Seit unserem Urlaub in Kopenhagen ist unsere Kleine eine begeisterte Museumsbesucherin. Zeit, sich die Museen bei uns in der Gegend ein bisschen genauer anzusehen.

Das Odysseum in Köln

Wir parken in der Tiefgarage (5€ für 5h) unter dem Museum und starten mit der Themenwelt Leben. Huch, ganz schön dunkel hier und meine Kleine bekommt auch noch den Schreck Ihres Lebens, der Dinosaurier bewegt sich und brüllt drauf los, oh je, ich befürchte schon das wars, aber einmal tief durchatmen und weiter geht’s, zum schiefen Haus, Gegenstände fühlen und wir testen unsere Reaktionsfähigkeit. Die meiste Zeit verbringt meine Kleine aber im Sand, ausgestattet mit Pinsel und Schäufelchen, legt sie geduldig die vergrabenen Knochen frei und ist begeistert.
Kleiner Minuspunkt: Ziemlich viele Stationen werden gerade gewartet. Pluspunkt hingegen, Still- und Wickelraum sind vorhanden und nen Kinderwagen kann man sich auch kostenlos ausleihen.

Tipp: Informiert euch am Anfang euers Besuchs, wann die Koffer- oder Science Show stattfindet. Wir waren in der Koffershow, für unsere Kleine waren die Geschichten und kleinen Experimente sehr beeindruckend, ganz aufmerksam und mit großen Augen hat sie alles ganz genau verfolgt!

Die nächste Station, Themenwelt Erde. Für alle Physikliebhaber ein Träumchen, meneer probiert das Austronautentraining aus und meine Kleine und ich nehmen im Flugsimulator Platz. Wir fliegen lustig im Kreis und stürzen am Ende erfolgreich ab…aber Hauptsache wir haben Spaß.

Tipp: Falls ihr ewiges Anstehen umgehen wollt, besucht das Odysseum an einem sonnigen Tag.

Die Maus im Odysseum

Welches Kind kennt sie nicht, die Maus und ihren Freund den blauen Elefanten. In der Ausstellung wird, typisch für die Maus alles mögliche Alltägliche und nicht so ganz alltägliches kindgerecht erklärt. Wie funktioniert eigentlich eine Astronautenklo? Geklettert werden darf auf der “Baustelle” oder für Kinder über 1,2m im Hochseilgarten hoch oben unter der Decke.
Was ich mir auf jeden Fall für einen der nächsten Kindergeburtstage schon mal vormerke: Ihr könnt hier euren eigenen Trickfilm herstellen, komplett mit Hintergrundgeräuschen und Effekten und natürlich zu Hause runterladen.

Sonderausstellung Bricklive

Nur noch bis August läuft die Lego Sonderausstellung im Odysseum in Köln, Millionen Legosteine warten auf euch, zum spielen, bauen und Kunstwerke entstehen lassen. Egal ob ihr Duplo-, Friends-, Ninja- oder Star wars-Lego Fans seid, hier könnt ihr euch nach Herzenslust austoben. Mega!

Der Wasserspielplatz am Odysseum

Wenn man in Köln nach schönen Wasserspielplätzen sucht, stößt man immer wieder auch auf den im Außenbereich, des Museums daher waren meine Erwartungen relativ hoch. Die Wasserspielgeräte sind auch abwechslungsreich und die Kinder fanden es prima, aber das Drumherum ist ziemlich lieblos, Unkraut wuchert und es wirkt etwas vernachlässigt, da könnte man viiieeelll mehr draus machen. Trotzdem waren wir auf dem Spielplatz bis alle Ersatzklamotten auch nass waren und sind zig mal auf der Rennstrecke gegen Huhn, Eidechse, Elefant und Gepard, gerannt, herrlich.

Since our holiday in Copenhagen, our little one has been an enthusiastic museum visitor. Time to take a closer look at the museums in and around cologne.

The Odysseum in Cologne

We park in the underground car park (5€ for 5h) and start with the theme world life. Huch, quite dark here and my little one also gets scarred first, the dinosaur moves and roars, oh no, I’m afraid she wants to head home directly, but we take a deep breath and keep going. My little one spends most of her time in the sand, equipped with brushes and scoops, patiently uncovering the buried bones and she is thrilled.
Small minus point: Quite a lot of stations are currently under maintenance. Plus point, on the other hand, breastfeeding and changing rooms are available and you can also rent strollers free of charge.

Tip: At the beginning of your visit, check out when the suitcase or science show will take place. We were in the suitcase show, for our little ones the stories and small experiments were very impressive and attentive and with big eyes she followed everything what happened!

The next station, Theme World Earth. A dream for all physics lovers, meneer tries out the austronaut training seat and my little ones and I take a seat in the flight simulator. We fly successfully in a circle and crash successfully in the end… but we had fun.

Tip: If you want to avoid queuing, visit the Odysseum on a sunny day.

The Mouse in the Odysseum

The cartoons with the mouse, which child does not know them, the mouse and her friend the blue elephant. In the exhibition, typical for the mouse, all sorts of everyday things and not so everyday ones were explained in a child-friendly manner. How does an astronaut toilet actually work?
Climbing can be carried out on the “construction site” or for children over 1.2m in the high ropes course just beneath the ceiling.
What I will definitely keep in mind for one of the next children’s birthdays: You can make your own animated film here, complete with background noises and effects and of course download it at home.
Together with digging for bones our highlight of the Adventure Museum.

Special exhibition Bricklive

Only until August the Lego special exhibition runs at the Odysseum in Cologne, millions of Lego bricks are waiting for you to play, build and create works of art. Whether you’re a Duplo, Friends, Ninja or Star wars-Lego fan, here dreams come true. Awesome!

The water playground at the Odysseum

If you are looking for beautiful water playgrounds in Cologne, you will always come across the one in the outdoor area of the Odysseum, thus, my expectations were relatively high. The water play equipment is also varied and the children liked it, but the surrounding is quite loveless, weeds grow and it seems a bit neglected, you could make so much more out of it. Nevertheless, we were on the playground until all the spare clothes were also wet and we ran dozens of times on the racing track against chicken, lizard, elephant and cheetah, hilarious.
