Auf Lanzarote hab ich mich definitiv am meisten gefreut und da ich hier möglichst viel sehen wollte, haben wir uns für unseren Landausflug ein Auto gemietet.
Tipp: Vorher organisieren, wir hätten fast keines mehr bekommen. 35€ für das Auto und 15€ für den Kindersitz.
Nur einen Tag Zeit und so viele Pläne, hier war es wirklich schwierig eine Entscheidung zu treffen, was wir uns ansehen wollen.
Los Hervideros
Obwohl, die Sonne sich erstmal nicht blicken lässt, ist die Fahrt durch das schwarze Lavagestein der Insel schon ein Erlebnis für sich. Unser erster Stopp die bizarre Felsküste im Südwesten der Insel. Wir stehen auf den Klippen oberhalb der tosenden Wellen und sind begeistert. Das Meer kracht gegen die Felsen, tobt und spritzt. “Wow die sind aber hoch!” Ja und die nächste ist nochmal höher als alle vorherigen, wir haben keine Chance und die Welle kommt bis zu uns – innerhalb von Sekunden sind wir klatschnass. Ein paar Ersatzklamotten haben wir zum Glück im Auto, trotzdem ist unser nächster Stopp das Fischerdörfchen El Golfo, auf der Suche nach einem Souvenirladen um uns neu einzukleiden. Der erste Laden hatte natürlich zu, eine nette spanische Oma hat uns im Restaurant nebenan einen Stapel Kinder T-shirts geschenkt und uns zu einem geöffneten Laden geschickt. Im Nachhinein eine Geschichte zum darüber Lachen.
Lago Verde
Der grüne See neben dem blauen Atlantik eingebettet in schwarzen und roten Felsen, unglaublich schön. Der Weg dorthin, der Blick auf die Bucht egal wo man hinsieht ein Ausblick schöner als der andere. Ein extrem schönes Ausflugsziel auf Lanzarote.
Timanfaya Nationalpark
Weiter geht’s zu den Feuerbergen, für den Nationalpark selbst muss man Eintritt zahlen und im Park darf man sich nicht auf eigene Faust bewegen, entweder ihr macht eine geführte Wanderung oder nehmt wie wir den Bus. Im Bus wird auf Spanisch, Englisch und Deutsch über die Vulkanausbrüche und die Geschichte des Nationalparks berichtet. Die Bustour an sich fand ich tatsächlich jetzt gar nicht so beeindruckend, die Landschaft dafür umso mehr. Besonders die glühend heiße Luft, die immer noch aus dem Boden kommt und unter anderem direkt zum Grillen verwendet wird. Anschließend wird geritten, und zwar auf Kamelen, meine Kleine und ich auf der einen und meneer auf der anderen Seite schaukeln wir durch die Landschaft, wir sind begeistert.
Arrecife
Nachdem wir unser Mietauto wieder abgegeben haben, noch ein kurzer Abstecher an den Strand von Arrecife bevor wir an der Promenade entlang zum Schiff zurück spaziert sind. Die Castillo de San José und die Puente de las Bolas schauen wir uns zum Abschluss noch vom Spielplatz aus an. Ein herrlicher Abschluss unseres wundervollen Tages auf Lanzarote.
Lanzarote hat uns auf jeden Fall so beeindruckt, dass wir uns gut vorstellen können hier einen richtigen Urlaub zu verbringen. Einer der Vorteile, bei einer Kreuzfahrt, man bekommt in kurzer Zeit einen super Eindruck von vielen extrem unterschiedlichen Orten. Mir war vor unserer Reise überhaupt nicht klar wie unterschiedlich und vielfältig, die Kanaren sind.
I was especially looking forward to Lanzarote, as I wanted to see as much as possible here, we rented a car for our land excursion.

Los Hervideros
Although there is no sun today, the drive through the black lava rocks of the island is an experience itself. Our first stop is the bizarre rocky coast in the southwest of the island. We watch from the cliffs above the roaring waves and are thrilled. The sea crashes against the rocks, rages and splashes. “Wow, they’re so high!” Yes, and the next one is even higher than all the previous ones, we have no chance and the wave gets us – within seconds we are soaking wet. Luckily we have some spare clothes in the car, nevertheless our next stop is the fishing village El Golfo, looking for a souvenir shop to buy new clothes. The first shop was of course closed, a nice spanish granny gave us a stack of kids t-shirts in the restaurant next door and sent us to an open shop. Afterwards a story to laugh about.
Lago Verde
The green lake next to the blue Atlantic Ocean embedded in black and red rocks, incredibly beautiful. The path, the view of the bay no matter where you look, one view more beautiful than the other. An extremely beautiful excursion in Lanzarote.
Timanfaya National Park
We continue to the fire mountains, for the national park itself you have to pay entrance fee and in the park you are not allowed to move on your own, either you do a guided hike or take the bus like we did. On the bus the story of the island was told in Spanish, English and German. I actually did not find the bus tour itself so impressive, but the landscape even more. Specially the hot air that still comes out of the ground and is, among other things, directly used for barbecues. Afterwards we take a ride, on camels, my little one and me on one side and meneer on the other one we rock through the landscape, awesome.
Arrecife
After we have returned our rented car, we walk along the beach of Arrecife before we head back to the ship. Finally, we have a look at the Castillo de San José and the Puente de las Bolas from the playground. A wonderful end of our wonderful day in Lanzarote.
In any case, Lanzarote impressed us so much that we can imagine to spend a real holiday here. One of the advantages of a cruise in a short time one gets a great impression of many extremely different places. Before our trip I was not aware at all how different and manifold the Canarian Islands are.
